SEPTIC PUMPING

Affordable Septic Pumping from John Kline Septic Services

Digging open a manhole
If you have a septic system, routine maintenance is necessary to keep things working properly. How often you need your tank pumped depends on the size of your tank and the number of people in your household. Most systems require pumping every 2-3 years. If you have a garbage disposal, you may find that your tank needs pumped more often.

Some Central Pa townships mandate regular pumping so you may receive a notice in the mail that your system is due to be pumped. If that’s the case, we’ll make sure your township receives all necessary documentation. Mandated pumping is based on the longest amount of time the township will allow you to go between pumpings, however, many systems need pumped more often to work effectively.

Before you schedule your septic pumping, here are some important things to know:
  • Location of septic tank cover or manhole, and whether it is at or below grade
  • How many gallons your tank holds and what size your tank is (some homes have multiple tanks)
If you’re not sure what kind of tank you have or how many gallons it holds, don’t worry, many new homeowners are unsure of the specifics. Our technicians are happy to inspect your septic system to determine the size of your tank(s) and show you where to locate each of the components. It’s a great idea to make a diagram of your septic system and its layout so you know where parts are located for future reference.
How do I know if my septic tank needs to be pumped?

If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms, your septic system most likely requires pumping.
  • Gurgling sounds when flushing your toilets or slow running drains.
  • Actual septic sewage backups from toilets or other plumbing inside your home.
  • Septic tank pump alarms or soggy area above ground.
  • Sewage odors inside your home or near your septic tank.

"I just wanted to thank you for the excellent service. Having just retired after 35 years of commercial electrical estimating and project management, I know the business and how I would treat my customers. Keaton and Kyle were great."
